I really can't point to any one reason why, I just do.
Maybe it's her can do attitude. Maybe it's her smile. Maybe it because I hope to look as good as she does when I'm her age. Maybe it's her spunk and spirit. I think all of those things I just mention is why so many people hate her.
Sure, I hear people gasp in horror OMG! She hunts down animals and shoots the poor defenseless things leaving them to die unable to defend themselves.
So let's look at these poor, helpless animals:
Polar Bear Facts
Size: Male polar bears are much larger than females. Adult males grow eight to almost nine feet long, while females grow to about six feet long. Males weigh 800 to 1,400 pounds, whereas females are about half the Male's weight, at from 440 to 650 pounds. On two legs, a large male polar bear may stand ten feet or, rarely, taller.
Ask any big game hunter just how helpless an enraged polar bear is. Better yet, let's look at what happens when someone tries to pet one of those cute cuddly snow white critters.
Two examples:
One word comes to mind: Idiots. I was shocked to see a comment that said I don't consider the bear dangerous. I consider humans to be dangerous. Uhm, right, and on that note, I move on to the topic at hand. . .
The Coca Cola polar bear he ain't. One more thing, I seriously doubt she leaves anything to die on its own. She shoots to kill. Any big game hunter does that. Ask Teddy Roosevelt or President Taft.
Guess what? Polar bears EAT seals. Or people. They're carnivores. They're not vegetarians.
On to hunting wolves.
In the lower 48 it is illegal to hunt wolves. In Alaska, it is not illegal. Why?
To Protect the Caribou or other animals used for food which, by the way, is another group of animals hunted in Alaska.
With wolves you also run the risk of rabies.
I know a lot of you will say but they're sold as pets! Hybrids are sold as pets. Let me tell you, from experience, hybrid are every bit as dangerous as the full bodied version. They're every bit as shy, every bit as large, yes, wolves are HUGE
Description: Gray wolves, are the largest wild members of the dog family. Males are usually larger than females.
Weight:
Male: 80-110 lbs. Female: 60-80 lbs.
Height: 26 to 32 inches
Length:
Male: 5-6.5 feet Female: 4.5 to 6 feet
Got that? As tall if not taller than you and weigh about as much.
My dad's hybrid was right at 6ft, a full 9 inches taller than my mom. She was aggressive. She only obeyed my dad because he established himself her pack leader. Anyone else, well, they were intruders on her territory. She considered herself and my dad the alpha pair.
Here in TN I have seen one wolf in the wild. He looked every bit as lost and confused as I was startled to find him standing in the middle of Mecca Pike very early on a fall Sunday morning. Scared me and he took off running.
I don't consider myself a hunter. I'm certainly not a PETA supporter. And I really don't care if Sarah Palin hunts animals from the air. To me that says she knows how to use a weapon, more specifically, a gun. I'm going to go out on a limb and say if you can hit a moving target, from a helicopter, you're probably a damn fine marksman as well.
My dad was a hunter, and that doesn't make him a bad man, or someone to be afraid of. Some people have unreasonable fears, being afraid of Sarah Palin because she shoots animals, is an unreasonable fear. Unless you're the animal on the wrong end of her gun...
Liberals should fear her. She's for everything liberals are against. She loves this country. She loves her family. She can think and speak for herself. She's beautiful. She knows how to use a gun. She has kids, one of whom has Down's Syndrome. She has a grandson. If any of those things worry or frighten you, maybe you should ask yourself why? What is so threatening about her attributes?
One last Question: Would you have been as afraid of her had she been the DEMOCRAT nominee?

A new twist on why people want national healthcare
On my way to work this afternoon I was listening to a local talk show host, George Korda, who had a woman(whose name I've forgotten) answering questions about why she voted for Obama and why she was all for Nationalized health care.
I missed her answer on why she was for Obama, but I nearly stopped the car when she said why she was for Nationalized Health Insurance. She wants a guaranteed insurance so if she becomes ill with a catastrophic illness she won't be dropped.
WHAT??!?!?!!!!
Sister, have you not been paying attention? Social medicine tells you IF, when, where, and how you will be treated for your medical condition. You don't' get a say in the matter.
What are you going to do if you're told you have to wait for treatment, in the meantime TAKE A PILL???
What if it's one of those do or die medical/surgical procedures you need but you have to go an a waiting list because all the federal pay rolled doctors are overrun with people who are ahead of you? Say, bone marrow transplant, or pace maker insertion, dialysis, chemotherapy, appendectomy, currently operable brain tumor that won't be if it isn't removed now....and the list goes on.
You are better off now, with private health insurance. There is the medicare/medicaid option out there that will pick you up if you have a catastrophic illness and your private insurance has dropped you. Been there done that when I was placed on Tenn care (TN's version of social medicine) when my husband had lost his job and I was pregnant.
Now, I have never been refused medical treatment even when I told my doctor's office that I didn't have insurance or money. I have never been turned away from the hospital emergency room. I was given a payment option every time.
The exception: I was almost refused medical attention while on Tenn care because my ob/gyn didn't take Tenn care. The only reason he continued to see me was because I was already a patient before I went on the Tenn care dole and he knew that when my husband went back to work I would have 'normal' health care coverage again. You see, like other social programs out there, Tenn care has the bad reputation of not paying because it is pretty much bankrupt. Sound familiar?
I'm just appalled that someone is that willing to take 'government care' under the guise of 'consumer protection' just because they don't want to be bothered with having to hunt another insurance provider or pay more premiums to keep their current coverage.
Why not revamp current programs? Why can't she, or anyone else for that matter, in the event of cancelled policy due to catastrophic illness, apply for medicare/medicaid?
What is the appeal, the REAL appeal of socialized medicine?
Cost effectiveness? At trillions of dollars, I doubt it.
State of the art medicine on the cheap? Remember, you get what you pay for. and Obama has already said 'take a pill'.
Equality in treatment for everyone? bingo! Except politicians, and the elite, and unionized workers who have the fancy medical insurance that we Americans are paying for with our tax dollars.
It's the new version of "Let them eat cake!"
Now it's "Let them take a pill! And stand in line."
Get over it already. I'm not going to go any further on the matter than to say. You get what you pay for. And if it's free, you ain't gonna get much. That includes 'protection' from being cancelled.

Tennessee: The VOLUNTEER State:Leading the way
State Sovereignty
And we have a DEMOCRAT for a governor.
Apparently several other states have passed the same resolution but their governors have yet to sign it. One such state is Alaska and another is Louisiana. C'mon Sarah Palin step up to the plate already.

Obama's Healthcare plan in a nutshell...take a pill
Hug your parents and grandparents and pray Socialized/Public/National Health Care isn't passed.
Those of you all for Socialized/Nationalized Health care, take a look at how well run government medicine is. It's been here all along. Under Medicare(all but bankrupt), Social Security (all but bankrupt) and Veteran's Hospitals where incompetence runs rampant
And what of Mr. Obama?
Why should he take public health care? He and his family is set for life simply because he was elected. Our other elected officials (congressmen/senators/governors) get free high dollar health care on our dime. So don't look for them to go on the public health care dole either. If they are 'public servants', which is what an elected official is, then shouldn't they too have to take 'public health care'? But then, I don't know of any deities who need medical care. Do you?

A Bit Disturbed and Surrendering the Fight
I was sent a link to Thomas Paine's Common Sense, revisited here Revisited
While I applaud the effort, I find some of the others who reference the site and their beliefs a bit disturbing. The most disturbing are those who still believe 9/11was an inside job followed by those with Bush Derangement Syndrome. Give it a rest already!
Stop trashing what can't be changed and do something about what can be changed...leadership in the US government. For heaven's sakes get out and vote this next election cycle. Stop belly aching/complaining/whining/moaning and campaign for real change, wield your voting power, and show elected officials that you won't tolerate their gluttonous behavior with our money and resources.
VOTE is the most powerful tool you have, no gun can surpass it. Use it well.
In the meantime go read the above website, look up Thomas Paine's Common Sense and read it,t hen decided for yourself what you want to do.
[After thoughts] Something I find even more disturbing is the number of people willing to call it quits. I see things like the end of Conservatism, the end of Federalism, the end of Freedom 'as we know it' touted all over the Internet.
Then I see those who are willing to stand up and be counted as those who would rather die trying than just lay down and call it quits. I can't help but wonder where the disconnect is? Where is the hope? Where is the fighting spirit of those who say it's over? Perhaps it's over for you but don't tell me what to think, feel, or speak. I stand with the fighters. My children stand with the fighters. The children who are watching all this drama play out are taking their cues from the adults in this three ringed circus. Which lesson do you want them to learn? Quitters never win?
Teach them right from wrong. Teach them American History. Why wait for someone else to do it? If you're waiting for permission to teach your children something they should know then you've already surrendered. It isn't too late to turn around, start teaching them today.
Don't know where to start? Try the beginning, the reason for the colonies. You can find almost anything you want simply by using Internet search engines, read through the materials to make sure it isn't tainted by liberal political correctness, go to used bookstores and look for old history books because they'll have the best material for colonial and early American history. Find older copies of the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, Mayflower Compact, and other early documents.
Cotton Mather's Work for a good look at the way early Americans looked at the world around them.
Pamphleteer Thomas Paine
Might I also suggest The Patriot, with Mel Gibson? True it's a bit bloody and intense, but it's a good history lesson.
Roots? Glory? North and South?
There's all sorts of information to be had to teach your children, raise them knowing their history, you just have to look.
As for just giving up, I can't make you do anything you don't want to, but I refuse to surrender.

The Underemployed should be considered unemployed?
I was listening to the Kit Craddock morning show on the way to school with my kids.
The morning crew thinks that a person who lost a 70k plus salary a year job should still be considered unemployed even if said person is now delivering pizza's for $10 an hour.
Perhaps this employed unemployed person isn't living the lifestyle they're used to. Perhaps they don't get the salary they're used to but, BUT said person is no longer unemployed. Said person is making more than he/she would have been able to draw on unemployment by delivering pizza (not counting tips). Said person is not under the stress/pressure of the former 70K a year, nor do they have to remain a pizza delivery person for the rest of their lives. THEY HAVE A JOB!
Even if 'under employed' they're still employed.
Seems they'll try anything to make things look worse than they are.

Observation: Stimulus Package = Help for the rich
Let me be clear on that observation. If the stimulus package truly were to help the "poor people" struggling to make payments on their mortgage/not lose their home then it would have been given to the people who needed it most: THE PEOPLE.
Instead it went to the Bankers/Car Manufacturers/Insurance Companies' pockets as evidenced by all the headlines about bonuses granted to those companies who received bailout monies.
Now, tell me who that helped? People in foreclosure are still in foreclosure.
It didn't save jobs. It didn't create jobs.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm not complaining. Not about that really. I am complaining about the people who are still whining that 'my boss makes more money than I do!"
So?
Those bank CEOs, your 'boss', anyone who makes more money than you do got where they are by the decisions they made.
They have the experience.
They have the education.
If you want what they have do what they did.
EARN IT.
No one ever got rich by working for someone else. The government has never made a constituent rich. Money doesn't grow on trees nor does good jobs or successful businesses.
You have to WORK.
You have to GET AN EDUCATION.
You have to put in SWEAT EQUITY.
That's how you get what they have.
Stop sticking your hands in my pocket. I earned what I have and you don't deserve it no matter what your excuse of the minute is.
Taking something you didn't earn is theft no matter how you paint it. Robin Hood was a thief. So are you if you're whining that you want what I have and want the government to take it from me.
If you're going to whine that expecting you to work and get an education is too hard and not fair, then you deserve to be exactly where you are.
I don't want to hear about your reasons why you CAN'T, JUST CAN'T! do what you have to in order to get rich. It's just a whiny assed excuse.
And I'm tired of hearing them.
Go whine somewhere else.

Time To Make Sausage?
This is a must read! What Are 'THE PEOPLE" Thinking As 546 Political Pigs Destroy Their Nation
Hey John, the one who commented about the poor people who lost their jobs or are too ill to pay their mortgages so my kids and their kids, kids, kids, kids have to pay it for them...most mortgages (and car notes as well) have riders on them for just such emergencies, some are optional, some are required, depends on the size of the mortgage, not my fault they didn't take the option when offered. Been there, done that thanks to a drunk driver, the riders on both the car note and the mortgage made my car payments and my mortgage, so that 'excuse' doesn't wash with me, sorry dude, try again.
